DO WHAT IT TAKES.

If I only knew more people like him?

"If you are persistant," and follow your nose really anything can happen. Dave got his first sponsor for his trip today! Dave got more out of that than just a sponsor, but a friend to boot. Dave worked the crowd, and someone listened and gave him his first real boost on his trip...  "MONEY."

"Working a crowd is an art." Anyone can do it but most are not successful in their endeavors. It takes the right pitch, and timing is everything. Dave fortunately worked the crowd in succession by coming to this event, week after week and judged who came every week while he was there. He also looked at the successes of the sponsors business, and what that sponsor could give him, monetarily, and what this sponsor had in market looks by other businesses, and by how many customers of word of mouth he would get. Talk is cheap but in most instances it can make, or break a product or business.

The sponsor that Dave reeled in, has his own website, and posts photos, and comments, along with what he thinks helps drive his business. He supports community out reach at the same time, and gets behind issues that effect his every day business. Dave took the ball and ran with it. Fortunately for Dave, it was easier to connect with this sponsor than he first realized.

"Making productive relations," helped Dave drive home what he was doing, who he was, and what type of support Dave could give back to his sponsors in return for a monetary donation to his Charity. In the business of Charities, funds have almost dried up these days. Asking for donations used to be a lot easier years ago. But since the market has dried up, it's more about the cause, the monetary amount your looking for, and what's in it for the business donating money to your campaign.

"Dave had a lot to offer!" His charity was unique in a lot of ways, due to what he was donating his money toward. Dave entered a challenge, that in simple terms was a life or death challenge. Other benefits to Dave's challenge is it was national, not just local and Dave had product that the sponsor had furnished him on his bike during Dave's journey. Dave became a marketing tool for the sponsor.

Bingo... that's the key to Dave success, he became a marketer. Dave was a marketer of his sponsors products, Dave got what he was looking for in cash return. The sponsor got more in market shares by Dave's word of mouth, and a few business cards from the sponsor he handed out than spending money on some print ad. Dave could show the sponsors product and champion those products by being behind what he was selling as a very well trained salesman for the sponsor because he supported the sponsors products, and owned them too.

"There is nothing a sponsor would rather have today," as a well oiled, and true customer of his or hers products. Dave was a perfect match between both parties. A true patriot of what his sponsor was selling, a true owner of the product, and stood behind the sponsors product because he believed in his sponsors products, and how they performed in the field. What a match!!!

In looking at market shares alone, both parties made out very well. Dave on the other hand had more fuel to get other sponsors, because now he had some one that new sponsors could contact, or better yet talk to about the Charity Dave was sponsoring. It also gave him confidence that there were other business that where in the reach of Dave. Nothing like confidence to make your day, and your future!

I took liberty to get a short interview of Dave and his first sponsor. You can see the relationship between both parties. The relationship is not really a business deal but like two brothers having fun at a soft ball game. Being part of a family helps in the way this interview comes off. It made my life doing the interview so much easier, because I didn't have to script, or really even talk much or ask any questions. Both parties did the work for me. This becomes a more natural environment to work in, and both parties put some heart and sole into their statement.

Check out this quick clip of two pals talking about their relationship notice the true friendship both parties have, other than being a little camera shy:
